The Amakhala Foundation focuses on literacy and environmental education to enrich our community.

Environmental education begins with teaching young kids to love animals and continues with age-appropriate programs for older students. We offer themed BIG Days for ages 6-9, partnerships with Coaching Conservation for 10-11-year-olds, and a Nature Club for high schoolers. Promising students can apply for bursaries to earn guiding qualifications. Annually, 1,500 visitors come to the Conservation Centre, where about 70% see wildlife for the first time on our 22-seater game vehicle.

Additionally, the Craft Centre allows local women to sell handmade items, and we maintain a strong partnership with Isipho Charity Trust, which supports vulnerable children in nearby Paterson with education and psychosocial assistance.
